DFW Elite Toy Museum is Canine Friendly

Families and their fur-kids are welcome at Haltom City’s rare toy museum

August 6, 2011 – Fort Worth, TX – At DFW Elite Toy Museum not only can you marvel at more than 3,000 rare collectibles such as Snappy the Miracle Dog, G.I. Joe and his K-9 pups and unique model cars with dogs, you can bring man’s best friend with you – the four-legged kind. Museum owner Ron Sturgeon has always enjoyed fine collectible toys – and dogs – and his museum reflects those passions.

Not only does the toy museum house one of the world’s largest collections of rare automotive toys and models, DFW Elite Toy Museum may be the only dog-friendly toy museum in the world.

Ron Sturgeon’s friendly Cavalier King Charles spaniels might be on hand to welcome you, your family and your fur-kids the next time you stop by the museum. Keep up with the adventures of Ron’s Cavaliers at spoiled cavaliers.com.

The newly enlarged museum will be featuring Sturgeon’s recent acquisition of meticulously detailed model ships that once belonged to the publishing mogul Malcolm Forbes until mid-September.

"These models give us an opportunity to view history," said Sturgeon. "Most of these ships no longer exist, but we can see exactly what they looked like, thanks to Malcolm Forbes’ dedication to preserving maritime history."

“The museum has more than 3,000 toys rare toys that I have collected or that people have donated to the museum,” said Sturgeon.

Open 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. weekdays, visit DFW Elite Toy Museum at 5940 Eden Drive in Haltom City. Admission is free and the museum is available for special events
